"It's a great community; it's got a small town feel to it," Hare said. "(Spanish Springs students) are raised the right way."
"When the Mesa job came open and I did some research on Converse New 2018
this specific high school, we were really excited for this possibility. I wasn't going to leave for just any high school somewhere else or somewhere warmer. We were very specific on the type of school we were looking at."
But when a significant opportunity opened up following the just completed 2013 season, he adjusted his timetable by a year.
Hare himself agreed that he will miss the sense of community he felt in the Spanish Springs area.
He said he expects to begin in his new position on Jan. 20.
Hare confirmed Monday that he will leave after eight seasons as the Cougars' head coach to accept the same position at Mesa (Ariz.) High.
Anderson added that he is anticipating receiving interest from candidates outside the Washoe County School District.
Hare is the fourth Division I North head coach who will Converse Sale 2018 not be returning for the 2014 season, following Paul Mills (Bishop Manogue), Derek Bennett (Hug) and Ty Gregg (North Valleys).

"There were some family aspects (to the decision)," Hare said. "It is a good football move, but it wasn't just for the football.

Beyond the wins and losses, though, Spanish Springs athletic director Art Anderson said that Hare will be missed for his willingness to embrace the entire community.

the first round of the Division I North playoffs. The year before, the Cougars wound up 8 4 and came within four points of reaching the region championship game.
"What's unique about Scott is that, from the very beginning, he got involved in all aspects of the community," Anderson said. "Not just the high school and all parts of the high school he also got involved in the community. He was a Spanish Springs person, both community and high school."
Anderson said the application process for the position will formally open on Monday and would likely remain open for three weeks. He said he'd like to have a new head coach in place by the beginning of February.
"Obviously, coaches on our staff are interested, but we're opening it up district wide and outside of the district," Anderson said. "We feel we have a lot to offer as a school and a football program."
"It's a very high level of football . it's a big move from a football standpoint," Hare said. "It's an older school with a lot of tradition; they're a big school in a great league. It is a good opportunity for me as a coach, (and) then some of the other things fell into place, too, from the family aspect."
climate year round, Hare said the competitive nature of the Jackrabbits' regional and state competition was an important factor in his decision. Mesa, which finished 3 7 last season, is a Division I school in the Arizona Interscholastic Association.
