But the Rams were able to fight back from the 3 point line with McFarland connecting from the arc and then Gardner sank a 3 pointer to cut the deficit to 30 27 with 2:18 remaining.

"It wasn't a (defensive) problem," Kemp said. "They were just making tough shots. I thought we were contesting pretty much all their shots."

Nevada hit 15 of 25 shots from the field for 60 percent in the second half to finish the game at 26 of 54 from the field for 48.1 percent for the game. The Pack also outrebounded the Rams, 39 31, and blocked 10 shots with Demarshay Johnson netting a career high six.
The Rams suffered a big blow when the 7 footer Creason, who was the most valuable player in the Top of the World Classic at Fairbanks in November, fouled out with six minutes, 56 seconds left and the Rams trailing 55 51.
Brandon Fields scored 12 points for the Pack and JaVale McGee finished with 11 points and nine rebounds. Willis Gardner scored 19 points and Andre McFarland had 17 for Colorado State.
